About me:

Hello, My name is Jerzy and I am from Piła I Poland where I’m currently living. I’ve been an English teacher for the last 30 years, with some short breaks from teaching to do some odd jobs. So I started teaching English at the time when Poland was turning to market economy and there was a great demand for English teachers in our country. I graduated from teacher training college in Piła and I have taught English in various schools and ran lots of different English courses in many parts of Poland. At present, I teach both English and Polish- mainly online. Over the years my approach to teaching language has changed. Previously, I put too much attention to teaching grammar. Now, I tend to teach through context. This method is based on Stephen Krashen's Theory of Second Language Acquisition. I usually present my approach to teaching English in the first free lesson. Using this method I enjoy my classes a lot more as I can assure faster progress in my students’ acquiring the language. My huge experience enables me to tailor my approach to my students’ language abilities, skills and needs.
